Fall is probably my favorite season. I just love the cooler temps, the changing leaves and the holidays! And of course – college football – GO ‘NOLES!!! Please forgive my indulgence but it’s been a while since FSU has had such a great season. I had the chance to go to the FSU-Miami game this past weekend with my brother and it was awesome!
The training is going really well and I’m staying super busy with interviews, readings, assignments, site visits, etc. The training this past week focused on systems and structures that we will need in our church even before we launch. We dug deep into our critical systems like Sunday worship, Baptism, Children’s ministry, Finance, Assimilation, and more! It’s exciting and kind of overwhelming at the same time to see some of these things coming together. Of course it’s all on paper right now and subject to major revisions, but the general ideas are being forged through this process as we pursue God’s vision for HIS church that He has called us to plant. We have also gotten the legal process started and we recently got our NC Articles of Incorporation and are working on our 501c3 status! Please keep praying for God to show us what He wants us to see through this process. We can’t wait to share more with you!
As a matter of fact, we are planning a trip back to Raleigh the weekend before Christmas – Dec. 20th-23rd and would love to see as many people as possible! In addition, we are planning an opportunity to gather some friends to pray for Holly Springs, share some vision (including the name of the church), and hang out together on Sat. Dec. 21st from about 5-7 pm at the Holly Springs Community Center. Anyone and everyone is invited to come, but we just need to know how many to expect. Feel free to invite friends and family. Please shoot me a message if you are planning to join us! I’ll be sending more info out about it in the next couple of weeks, but I thought those of you who follow the blog would like to know about it sooner. We are really excited about seeing as many of you as possible!
Dawn is doing really well with her job and was just asked to extend her hours a little. It will be a bit of a challenge for us but we are trusting that God will work it out as He always does. Please keep praying for her to be a great witness for Christ to the family that she is nannying for. She is really enjoying the residency training specifically geared for the wives and the chance to get closer to them through their weekly meetings. Please also pray for Dawn and the other residents’ wives to be able to meet regularly and strengthen their relationships with each other.
Bailey is also doing well and had a great time dressing up as a snow princess/ ballerina for Halloween! She is starting gymnastics today in fact and lost a tooth over the weekend. There’s a little bit of drama with a couple friends at school so please pray that it won’t become a bigger issue.
We are continuing to meet more neighbors and looking for ways to show them God’s love so we appreciate your prayers for that as well. One more thing we love to have you pray for us about is our marriage retreat this coming weekend. (We had hoped to sneak over to Morristown to see the App Mission Team but had this conflict.) We will be going to WinShape in Reetreat Center in Rome, GA which is owned and operated by the Cathy family (Chick-fil-a) and we have heard that it is an amazing place! Bailey will be staying with my brother’s family in Atlanta while we are at the retreat.
Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support! I really mean it when I say that it means way more to us than you could possibly know! You are such a wonderful blessing!! We hope to connect with you soon!
Dawn, Todd & Bailey!
